16 | Viticulture (Just Add Wine)

With a podcast called “Cardboard and Wine”, it was just a matter of time before we discussed Viticulture. In this episode, we dive deep into our thoughts on this gorgeous wine-themed game. We also spend some time comparing and contrasting Viticulture with the subject of our last episode, Vinhos.

In addition, we share our favorite gaming moments from the past two weeks including Antiquity and Tzolk’in: The Mayan Calendar.

Lastly, we procure an Old Vine Zin from Aldi of all places!

13 | New York Slice (Don’t Play When Hungry)

We love a good theme, and New York Slice by Bézier Games may be the best, most thorough implementation of theme in a board game that we’ve seen. In this case, it’s pizza! From the awesome, photorealistic pizza tiles (thin slice, of course), to the menu rulebook, to the guest check scorepad, it’s pizza from start to finish. The game box even opens like a pizza box!

However, theme alone a good game does not make, so in this episode we break down New York Slice to see if you should place an order to have it delivered hot and ready for your game collection!
